Cossutti Yacht Design is proud to present the new Ocean Maxy 70, a new, true Blue Water sailing yacht , with a very simple target: to be a boat able to sail under all conditions – even in rough waters, upwind in big waves – and still be comfortable.
The target of the new project was simple: a boat to sail under all conditions – even in rough waters, upwind in big waves – and still be comfortable, the deck and cockpit remaining dry; not one of the sleekest but surely one of the most “Mediterranean” competitors, which seems to prevail on the market. It needed to be easily governed by a crew of two, high stability achieved by both hull shape and weight distribution.
Thanks to carbon construction and advanced engineering, we introduced the market to a boat that will acquire value in time, a boat that is modern and elegant, but not extreme in her design and technology.
This boat is the fruit of experience and a sailing culture; in other words, a true sailboat, for owners who do not wish to “appear” but to “be”.
As previously mentioned, the hull is made entirely in carbon, but engineered so that it is silent at every stroke, soft when impacting the waves; it has a telescopic keel with maximum draft of 3.80 m which is reduced to 2.60 m when retracted.
Nevertheless the telescopic keel makes it possible to install a single, deep rudder blade, positioned quite forward and thus improving maneuverability and control at any heeling angle.
The carbon mast is keel stepped, with Park Avenue Boom; a set of forward furling sails, with self-tacking and overlapping jib, plus Code 0 tacked on the bow, guarantee a balanced sail plan that is easy to handle under any condition.
Spacious, comfortable interiors present three double cabins with three heads and a forward skipper’s cabin; the owner’s cabin occupies most of the bow and has an ample, private bathroom. The large saloon is positioned in the center with portside dinette and galley.
Everything has gone to creating an atmosphere that is warm, cozy and yet streamlined and bright. A large, longitudinal tender garage is located aft of the engine room/technical spaces. To keep the weight down, all interiors are made of lightweight materials but finished in teak veneer and white satin paint.
