More 50 is the third sailing boat designed by our studio for the Croatian shipyard More Yachts, which fill the gap between the previous 55 and 40. The concept is the same of the other 2 More models, fast, nice, well built, performances cruisers, of course taking into account the experiences made in these years of collaboration with More and other yards.
More 50 is a real dual-purpouse boat, for family cruises in comfort, capable of running high mileages both under sail and engine but also ready for racing around the buoys or offshore. For the first time with More we present 2 deck layouts, an easy sailing one with 4 winches and all sheets near helmsman position and a more racing oriented 6 winches one with the utility ones near the entrance; also two more winches aft can be installed for top race crews asking for square top mainsail. But also new is the proposal of a more aggressive design for the deck itself with lower coamings for the race version and and original aft-coachroof cut to allow the sheet exits. Particular care and long time was spent with yard management to define an efficient and nice looking arrangement to efficiently sail the More 50 with a short handed crew, with a suitable winches and ropes layout but also with the possibility of a selftacking jib, a single point for mainsheet without track, jib furler below deck, gennaker/code tack point on bowsprit with lines lead to cockpit.
Performances analysis confirms that will be a fast boat: we have a long waterline hull but we took particular care to minimize the hull drag for good light-medium wind performances and minimal fuel or electric consumption; it’s so nice to sail a boat that run smoothly with just a bit of wind, in silence and not moving too much water, in my mind one of the pleasures of sailing; sailplan is of course adequate to the job, but thanks to the light displacement an exaggeratedly tall mast, difficult to deal with in heavy wind, is not needed.
The owner’s cabin bed is 2,05 x 1.65. We have 3 or 4 cabins options with 2 or 3 heads that can be combined, and also sile or L kitchen option; added to this it’s possible to divide the forward cabin with a removable bulkhead to have 2 twin cabins.
The construction is in Vacuum resin infusion, under vacuum the resin is equally distributed through all the parts of the hull. The final result is an extremely strong yet lightweight boat with improved protection of the vibration, noise and temperature fluctuation. There is a stainless steel grid inside and a GRP structural matrix. More 50 as a standard will be equipped by an high quality aluminium mast with rod rigging; carbon mast is an option as well as carbon V boom.

The storage room on the cockpit are 2 big locker in the benches, liferaft locker on bottom, halyard lockers in the aft part of benches that can be removed for racing configuration to allow a good space for mainsheet trimmer in front of the wheel pedestals As sun and wind protection there is a big and protective spray hood covers the forward part of the cockpit, seats included, and when not used goes in a dedicated recess; also a separate bimini is foreseen for the protection of the aft cockpit. In conclusion: More 50 is a new boat that has the DNA of our studio and the imprint of the More shipyard.
